PF Concept & Xindao Product Importer for the promotional products resellers

Quite some time ago we started developing webshops dedicated to the promotional products market. This as a point of focus aside our "generic" webshop developments. We learned a lot since then.

We believe that our beginners mind helped a lot in doing things differently. With this update we start a new chapter, based on all the lessons we learned.

Together with PF Concept we built our custom made solution on top of Magento.

If you work in the promotional business, there is a big chance that you will be familiar with PF Concept. They are one of the biggest promotional product suppliers in the world.

With the solution we developed, it’s really easy to import the complete PFC products portfolio into our E-commerce platform with all essential information about product specifications and pricing, imprint methods, pricing and location and live stock information from several warehouses all over in the world.

From this point you can run your own webshop including all the content you need based on our technology.

You can start selling brands like:
• Bullet
• Dunlop
• Slazenger
• Marksman
• BRIGHTravels
• Dunlop
• Label
• US Basics
and many more …

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for your costumers to order promotional products for there business.

Earlier this year we also launched another promotional product supplier .
Besides that you have full acces to the catalogue of PF Concept, also all the products from Xindao can be imported as required automatically.
Xindao is well known for their nicely designed products, for example the Bobby bag. They won several Red Dot product design awards and we are exited being able to make those products now available to you too.
If you want to sell your own products besides those of PF Concept and Xindao, that it is of course possible as well, including your own product stock, with all functionalities we are offering.
If you are looking to setup your online promotional shop we are of course available to answer your questions.
We also just announced that our import tools are also available as a separate tool. So if you already have a reliable webshop, which works on all mobile devices and is fast and ready for the future you can use our importer to import products from PF Concept and Xindao.

If you are interested in a demo we would love to send you more information or we can schedule a call to discuss the details about this upgrade

We’ve improved the search – it’s available now

This week we were searching for new content for our weekly product update. So we like to share our new features we have developed and haven’t told you about, yet.

There are different ways to how people interact with a webshop. One of the underestimated features is the search. Research shows - that people use the search tool often, to find for what they are looking for.

Having a great search can improve the conversion and user experience which are both extremely important for online shops.

The search is better because:
It’s faster
Better results
Automatic suggestion for better user experience (i.e. "Did you mean?" feature)
Dropdown with more information (images, price, SKU, product title)
User can directly search for a product, instead of list page
We think its a great new feature which, if you are interested, can be installed in your webshop.
If you want to know more, feel free to contact us, so we can give you a live demo.

Aside from this product update we are always interested to hear from your experience.
What can we do to help you grow your online business?

Support and knowledge portal

Your CloudShop Promo is based on the Magento platform, with multiple extensions built by CloudShop, specially for the promotional business.

Magento is the most popular commerce platform in the world, with more than 250,000 merchants around the globe selling more and driving innovation.

Consumer behavior is changing every day. Today’s bleeding edge innovation will be tomorrow’s table stakes. It’s important to adapt fast, and stay ahead of changing customer buying patterns.

However understanding how Magento works needs some amount of technical knowledge!
We already improved the basics of Magento by building many ‘friendly’ modules to make the configuration of your shop easier and less time consuming.
But to simplify the process even further we have now developed the CloudShop Promo support portal:

Do you want more traffic to your Promo webshop? Introducing Pop-up

For the past several months we have been working on something exciting. Our clients need a way to target specific groups of people, for a specific range of promotional products. In other words; our clients need to be able to create a marketing one-page website relatively fast.

In Magento our clients could achieve this by making a separate CMS page. Magento isn’t made for this so this process is slow, frustrating and the end result is often disappointing.

That’s why we’ve created Pop-up. Pop-up is a WordPress theme that serves as a companion for your WaaS. Once setup and configured you can build an one-pager, almost as easy as building something with Lego. This is because it works with components, which you can stack on top of each other via the WordPress back-end.

Hoodies are in high demand
Let’s say you want to make a marketing site for selling branded hoodies. You would request a Pop-up store, which we will setup and configure for you, and you can start building your one-pager. This one-pager is located at hoodies.yourshopsname.com. With this URL you can target an audience on Facebook, Google, Twitter etc.

But typing out product information, exporting and importing the product images into WordPress and double checking this for any mistakes isn’t fast and isn’t fun. That’s why we integrated all PF and Xindao products into our Pop-up theme via a custom made API.

This enables you to fill in the SKU of the product you want to show and Pop-up will take it from there. It will show your visitors the product name, image, description and maybe a button that links to the product in your WaaS.

While this integration is still in early beta, we started designing components for Pop-up as we speak.

Getting started with Pop-up and the WaaS API
If you would like to know more about the possibilities of Pop-up and the API or have any ideas about how to improve the product, please give us a call or drink some coffee with us!

Troup A’dour

And ……..Troup A’dour is live!

We told you about our contest in our home town.. one of the many nonprofit organizations could win a Website’ and Troup A’dour won.

Their artistic founder is Irina Parfenova. With her and two members of the board/team Bas and Andre we had several inspiring meetings. Their main mission is to spread the music, classical music. Irina is a pianist with an education at conservatory in Moscow and The Hague.
The most important group to them are children, as especially children should know about the classical music. Where does classical music fit into the landscape of children? If you listen to classical music at an early age, even if at the age of say, eight or nine to 20, they go off into that world [of popular music] if you come back to it, it’s the same as learning another language early, she said. They come back to it.

Isn’t that a beautiful goal we would love to give our contribution to?
Especially as we started this journey with our young team members,  very talented trainees Tom (frontend) developer, Twan (backend and advice) developer, Mariska designer and with guidance of Sven (art director) from Moij.
It was a great adventure as they will tell you shortly…

This is the result!

Of course we don’t stop with our relation with Troup A’dour, we will continue to assist them. Sven would like to add several great features to make this site more interactive and as common goal to make the classical music better known among children and their parents.

Tom:
When Mariska showed me the design she made for the new site I got really excited. I wanted to start working on the site as soon as I could because it would give me the chance to learn a lot of new things in WordPress and also work with lots of shapes and features together.
The hardest part of making the new website was making sure it would look good on different devices and work properly as well, and also loading for example event data on certain places to make the interaction as pleasant as possible for the users.
I enjoyed meetings with Irina, Bas and Andre, to show the progress of the website and to take their feedback to make the website even better.

Mariska:
I became really inspired when I heard about Troupe A’dour:  a new cultural adventure of creating a website about music and kids, which are both things I really love. I wanted to create a real life experience for the whole family. I came up with several ideas like musical elements and real concert tickets. Thats why the whole homepage is based on a violin,  a typical instrument of classical music. You can listen to various music fragments of concerts they gave by clicking on the strings of the violin. When I first showed the homepage to Irina, Bas and Andre they where very enthusiastic and I loved showing the progress to them. The product detail page is also an interactive experience where you can scroll through the range of tickets. In the end, when you bought the ticket, the ticket is torn in two pieces as in real life.
I love to see new assignments as real life adventures. Thats what we do.

E-commerce, it’s a big world

One of the most important things to do in life is to work on the ideas that inspire you. Things we really like doing, is building interactive products.

Mostly we build E-commerce projects. We always did this based on Magento (we still do), but there are so many great platforms which we want to explore so we are now also building shops based on Shopify and WordPress (Woo-Commerce). On top of that, as we introduced last week, we are developing our own content management system for a small niche market.

A new family member of CloudsWork – Lab

One of the things that we think is really important is to build a right culture within the company.
While our team is growing its important to create an environment were everyone is happy, and love what they are doing.

In an industry that is changing quickly its important to take time to study the new trends and possibilities.
That is why we make time to work on our own projects, just for fun and to challenge ourselves.
We do this in CloudsWork Lab.
Every now and then we have a teammeeting and discuss new ideas and projects we would like to develop.

Hello again

First of all, we hope your new year is off to a great start with lots of energy!

We sure did!

It’s always nice to start the year fresh and change some of our habits.

For us 2017 will be a year full of new adventures.

Soon we will open a new office in Amsterdam, starting a new internal company where we develop our own E-commerce platform and we will focus more on the design and marketing process of building digital products. We already hired new people for both services.

And the winner is……

Social contest for non profit organization
With my active involvement on daily basis at CloudsWork, we will automatically be involved to another industry as well, the nonprofit sector.  As I have been involved in many nonprofit organizations during my life and still love to support them.
Work with your head ánd heart is what we all need and I like to let everybody know, we should work like this within CloudsWork and all over the world. The world needs your passion!
For this reason, we, at CloudsWork, organized a contest in our direct surrounding. We offered the nonprofit organizations to win’ a website build by CloudsWork and Moij (our design Team in Amsterdam).
The organizations could introduce themselves with their mission statement and a short story about their passion and goals. Next step for us was to select the best 3 organizations and they could present themselves before a Jury of Sven from Moij and Lyda from CloudsWork. And we also asked 3 other passionate entrepreneurs to join us for this selection. Daniel Storm from Switch (marketing), Martijn van Dalen, he owns the local business magazine Venen into business,  and Karin Wateler, she connects entrepreneurs and nonprofits locally.

All three organizations had wonderful goals and ambitions, but the winner to us was Troup A’dour. Their passion is classical music and they like to reach out to as many people, to let them know the beauty of this music. Especially children, most children don’t even know what a composer’ is’, told Irina from Troup A’dour, that’s why they need to hear classical music as the basic of all music.
For Troup A’dour we are going to make an interactive platform, specially to reach out to children, so they can get acquainted with the great composers from our history….
This is the result of our journey with TroupA’dour
Lyda
